view from the top.

Last weekend, Gina and I took our very first weekend excursion on our own, destination: Capri. We booked a hotel in the town of Anacapri for two nights and got on a bus headed for the train station. This trip reminded me of the backpacking we did two summers ago and of how much I love the rush and chaos of travel. We took a bus to a train to a tram to a ferry to another bus before we made it to our destination, and the journey was incredible. On our first full day we set out on the island to explore Anacapri centrale, where we found the chairlift that took us to the top of Mount Solaro for the most spectacular view I've ever seen. The island's cliffs reached out into the unnaturally blue ocean, separated from the sky by only a few passing clouds. The weather was perfect, a breeze cooled our faces as we took in the serenity of this island in the sun.
